Biography

Vivendo de Pão formed in 1996, inspired by singer/songwriter Kevin Welch's experiences while living in the simple thatched roof hut villages of the Brazilian Amazon. The intense rhythm and flowing melodies of Vivendo de Pão express the ability of the human spirit to overcome adversity and celebrate life in all its richness and beauty.

Since their beginnings, the band has played at dozens of venues and special events, has cut two well-received CDs, has received great reviews by the press, and was voted "Best Latin / International Band" in the 1997 SF Weekly WAMMIES Awards.

Each of the members has a diverse and impressive musical history of their own, and their synergy together makes for unforgettable live performances.
